Chic autumn fashion, john legends new album, home made banana ice cream recipe, Seamus Heaney, NSYNC at the VMAS

Good evening lovely people!

It has been a while and I am keen to get back into blogging but this time far more regularly.

Summer is almost at an end, the seasons are definitely changing. I can feel a chill in the air which is crazy considering that Thursday was like 26c here and I woke up on Friday to a very unwelcome chilly temperature of 12c. A shock to the body!

So what is new this week?

  • Easy no cream home-made banana and peanut butter ice cream!
  • Chic and cheap outfits from Matalan
  • Music love for the legend that is John Legend!
  • My absolute delight still that Nsync reunited on the MTV VMA stage this year for 2 minutes
  • My bewilderment that beautiful summer is nearly over and with that...
  • Sadness that the wonderful Irish poet Seamus Heaney passed away, go well you beautiful artist.
Fitting as the harvest is nearly upon us;

Seamus Heaney-The Harvest Bow
As you plaited the harvest bow
You implicated the mellowed silence in you
In wheat that does not rust
But brightens as it tightens twist by twist
Into a knowable corona,
A throwaway love-knot of straw.
Hands that aged round ash plants and cane sticks
And lapped the spurs on a lifetime of gamecocks
Harked to their gift and worked with fine intent
Until your fingers moved somnambulant:
I tell and finger it like braille,
Gleaning the unsaid off the palpable,
And if I spy into its golden loops
I see us walk between the railway slopes
Into an evening of long grass and midges,
Blue smoke straight up, old beds and ploughs in hedges,
An auction notice on an outhouse wall--
You with a harvest bow in your lapel,
Me with the fishing rod, already homesick
For the big lift of these evenings, as your stick
Whacking the tip off weeds and bushes
Beats out of time, and beats, but flushes
Nothing: that original townland
Still tongue-tied in the straw tied by your hand.
The end of art is peace
Could be the motto of this frail device
That I have pinned up on our deal dresser--
Like a drawn snare
Slipped lately by the spirit of the corn
Yet burnished by its passage, and still warm

Continuing with Matalan....How awesome is this outfit?
I have this black pencil skirt already which is in a gorgeous jersey material, it's so flattering and I stretchy that I got it in a size 8 (usually I am a fabulous size 12) but it fits so much better in a smaller size.  It's also quite thick (2 layers). Below it is teamed with a maroon stretchy top, with a belt it would look devine!

Find the skirt here for only £10, such a bargain and what a wardrobe stable.

I really think this skirt is so chic! Find it here for only £14.

New music review

***JOHN LEGEND-LOVE IN THE FUTURE ***

John Legend, the beautiful man, yes I think he is gorgeous and also a superstar of a singer. One of the best singers, he is one of my ultimate faves. His highly anticipated new album Love in the Future  was released this week and I am still in that wonderful experience of listening to an album for the first time, so new and so exciting! I can still remember as a kid being so damn excited to get home from school and have a new album waiting for me and just loving the beautiful experience of listening to the unknown and sometimes instantly falling in love with a song. Back then Britney, BSB and Nsync were the hottest of the hottest for me!

So Mr.Legend has this delightful 20 track album waiting for me to discover, oh how I love music.

The album starts with a haunting intro of Love in the future:
This is a new year for love, love in the future, not the love I lost, not the love I lost

Have any of you got his new album? Let me know what you think!

Home-made Banana Ice 'cream'
I have been enjoying this delicious and healthy treat throughout this summer and I've found that lots of friends have never heard of this easy trick to make a kind of ice cream, without cream!

  1. It's easy peasy, you know if that annoying over ripened banana in the fruit bowl is really past it's best days, peel it, slice it up and stick it into the freezer.
  2. Once frozen, put into a blender (with or without some peanut butter)
  3. You have delicious home made banana ice cream
